Catherine McAuley MERCY Foundation: Serving Western North Carolina Since 1900

Catherine McAuley MERCY Foundation is the 501(c)3 fundraising arm of the nonprofit Sisters of Mercy Services Corporation (SOMSC). Urgent Care's new building at 1201 Patton Avenue was built by our own Mountain Health Contracting division.SOMSC is a sponsored ministry of the South Central Community of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas.

Last year, SOMSC provided over 100,000 service visits and patient days of care in our facilities throughout Buncombe County. We provided over $3 million in charity, undercompensated and uncompensated care, representing 20 percent of our operating budget. To date, we have served more than a million patients in the WNC region.

This year, to kick off our three-year capital campaign for the new Sisters of Mercy Urgent Care facility at 1201 Patton Avenue, we raffled off a 2009, fuel-efficient Mazda3. Congratulations to Jane Moore, who won the drawing for the new Mazda!

The Mazda raffle is over, but you can still help! If you are interested in contributing, please click on our Donate Now button below or contact Sharon Owen at (828) 281-2598 or sharon@somsc.org if you wish to pay over the phone or by check.
